ParClub vs HowDidiDo.
Different apps, doing different jobs. HowDidiDo keeps your CONGU handicap and your home-club fixtures. ParClub runs your society — the Order of Merit, the knockouts, the Eclectic, live scoring on the day. Most golfers end up using both. Here's the honest breakdown.

We're not trying to replace HowDidiDo.
If your home club is on HowDidiDo and it does what you need, brilliant. Keep it. ParClub picks up the bit HowDidiDo was never built for: a full season for the group of mates you play with.
Side-by-side
What each one is actually for.
HowDidiDo
- Your official CONGU/WHS handicap — synced with your home club
- Club fixtures and competition entries at your home golf club
- Tee booking at your home club (if your club's on it)
- Submitting general-play scores for handicap
- Roll-of-honour records at your club
Best for: members of a CONGU-affiliated club, tracking the official number.
ParClub
- A full season for your society — Order of Merit that keeps itself
- Knockouts that draw and score themselves
- The season-long Eclectic, scored automatically
- Live group scoring — every player sees every other player's score, in real time
- Bird's-eye GPS hole maps for every UK course
- Fixtures, pairings, chat — one app, no spreadsheets
- A society handicap that tracks form across YOUR rounds
Best for: any group of golfers who play together. Society, roll-up, mates' tour, two-ball league.

The pricing reality
The other thing we should talk about.
In 2024 HowDidiDo introduced a £24.99/yr Premium tier and put a chunk of useful features behind it — extra hole tips, live leaderboards, that sort of thing. Plenty of golfers were fine with it. Plenty weren't. The App Store reviews tell you everything (1.9 stars at time of writing).
That's not the point of this page. I'm not here to slag HowDidiDo off — they do a job, and they're not going anywhere. The point is just this: ParClub charges nothing to members and nothing to solo golfers, ever. The captain who runs a society pays £35/yr Pro (or £65/yr Masters for everything), and that's the whole price for the whole group, for as long as you keep running it.
No per-member fees. No ads. No premium tier upsell to your members. One price, locked for life.
Honest bit
What ParClub doesn't do.
Official WHS/CONGU handicap. If you want a number affiliated with England Golf, you need a CONGU-affiliated home club. ParClub doesn't issue that number — and honestly, no app outside the system can. Keep HowDidiDo or whichever app your club uses for that.
Tee booking at your home club. Different game.
Replace the pub. We're not trying to be a social network. Group chat sits inside the event, where it matters.
FAQ
Straight answers.
Is ParClub trying to replace HowDidiDo?
No. HowDidiDo's job is your official handicap and your home-club admin. ParClub's job is the society — the Order of Merit, the knockouts, the Eclectic, live scoring on the day. Most ParClub users keep HowDidiDo too. The two don't fight each other.
Does ParClub keep my official handicap?
It keeps a separate society handicap — an honest number that tracks your form across the rounds you play with your society. Your official WHS number stays with your home club and HowDidiDo. They sit alongside each other.
Why is ParClub free for members?
Because the captain is the one running the group. The members shouldn't have to pay to be in the WhatsApp group, basically. One annual fee covers the whole society — captain pays, everyone else plays free, forever.
What can ParClub do that HowDidiDo can't?
Run a season. Order of Merit that keeps itself, knockouts that draw and score themselves, the Eclectic, live group scoring on the day, bird's-eye GPS hole maps for every UK course, pairings and fixtures in one place. The day-to-day plumbing of a society.
Do I have to pay per member?
No. One flat annual fee for the whole society. £35/yr Pro or £65/yr Masters. Your price is locked for as long as you keep running it.
I just want to track my own rounds. Do I need a society?
No. ParClub is free for solo golfers. Open the app, record a round, watch your handicap settle, look at the bird's-eye map. That's it. No society needed.
Use both. Or use neither. Or just try this one.
Free on iPhone and Android. Free forever for solo golfers and society members. £35/yr for the bloke who runs the group.
