Competitions we score
Competitions we score, rule by rule.
Stableford and medal are the easy part. Below is everything ParClub scores for a golf society, from the order of merit to weight for age, each marked with where it stands. If yours isn't here, tell us how it works.
Every rule is tagged with where it stands today. Live means a real society already plays it.

What ParClub scores, grouped.
Each rule is written the way a secretary would put it. Your own numbers go into your build as you write them.

Stableford
Points on every hole off each player's handicap. Highest total wins.
- Live
Medal
Stroke play off the handicap: gross score less shots received, lowest net wins.
- Live
One strict medal
One medal off full handicap while the rest of the season is Stableford off 95%.
- Built
Match play, hole by hole
Net of handicap, and the result reads the way you'd write it: 3 and 2, dormie two, one up.
- Built
Fourball better ball
Pairs, own ball each, each partner off 90%. The better score counts on every hole.
Not here: Texas scramble, skins and twos. What ParClub doesn't score
- Live
Course handicap from slope and rating
Each member's index turned into shots for the course and tee being played, off its own slope and rating.
- Live
Stableford off 95%
The Stableford meetings play off 95% of course handicap; the strict medal plays off the full 100%.
- Built
Fourball off 90% each
In better ball, each partner plays off 90% of their own course handicap.
- Live
Divisions by handicap on the day
No fixed line. Whoever turns up, the field splits in half by handicap, each half with its own winner and runner-up.
- Live
Weight for age
Half a shot a year over 65, from date of birth, only at the meetings that use it. At 66, half a shot. At 70, two and a half.
Allowances are built into your society's set-up to match your rules, not picked from a menu each week. Tell us yours and they go in the build.
- Live
Order of merit, best three
Your three best finishing positions at the meetings that count, added up; lowest wins. Fewer than three and you're listed, not ranked.
- Live
Only the meetings that count
Each meeting is ticked for the tables it counts toward. The ones that don't count, don't.
- Live
A second table, its own run of meetings
A second cup over a different run of meetings, even one that straddles two seasons.
- Live
Penalties handed back
The second table ranks the same rounds as if nobody had a penalty. Tenth in one table, fourth in the other.
- Built
Only the best rounds count
Set how many rounds count, say the best two of four, so a player who misses a round isn't out of it.
- Live
Tables that work themselves out
Publish the day and every table it counts toward updates. No sums on a Sunday night.
Want to see a best-of table with your own results first? The free order of merit calculator turns each meeting's results into a ranked season table. No login.
- Live
Winners give shots back
Win or finish runner-up and you lose shots for the rest of the season and all of the next.
- Live
Shots set by division
A different number of shots for each division, and for winners and runners-up, set the way your rules have it.
- Live
On and off by themselves
Publish the result and the winners' shots come off. When their time is up they drop off again. Nobody has to remember.
- Live
Part of the handicap they play off
The penalty sits in the sum behind each playing handicap, and on the printed label for the card.
Your numbers go in as your rules write them: how many shots, for whom, and for how long. A second table can hand the penalties back: see Season tables.
- Built
36-hole days on two courses
Morning on one course, afternoon on another, each round off that course's own slope and rating.
- Built
Two days, four rounds, one meeting
A weekend of four rounds, with the AGM and the dinner in the same fixture.
- Built
Attendance per session
Who's in for each round, the AGM and the dinner, taken separately, with a cap on a round if you need one.
- Live
Each meeting set to its own rules
Every meeting ticked for the tables it counts toward, and for weight for age where it applies.
- Live
Matches against other societies
A diary of society matches: won, lost or halved, and the score. They never touch the order of merit.
We set up a weekend meeting as part of your build. After that the secretary edits the sessions and runs it from the portal.
- Live
Start sheet and tee times
Groups, tee times, and which tee and its colour for each group. Print it or paste it into an email.
- Live
Handicap labels
One sticker per player for the card: the handicap they play off that day, the tee time and the tee.
- Live
Email the society
The whole membership in one go, blind copied. Send yourself a test first.
- Built
Email just the field
Only the people playing this meeting, for the tee times and the late changes.
- Live
The secretary enters the cards
Hole by hole, or just the totals. Members don't need the app for their card to count.
- Built
One player scores the group
Any player in the group keeps the card for everyone in it, including anyone without the app.
- Live
Publish when you're ready
Nothing counts until you publish. Spot a mistake: unpublish, fix it, publish again.
For a society we build, the ParClub app is free for every member on iPhone and Android. Members who would rather not bother don't have to.
See it working
Same cards, a second table.
On the example portal, the Challenge Cup takes the same best-three method as the club championship and hands the penalty shots back. The last column shows how far each member moves between the two.

What ParClub doesn't score.
Better you hear it now than find out in April. These are left to you, and we'll say so on the first call too.
- Knockout drawsThe matches are scored, hole by hole. The draw is yours.
- Honours boardsEach published meeting keeps its winner and runner-up, but there's no roll of winners going back years.
- Importing past resultsMembers and handicaps come across from Excel, Numbers, a CSV or Airtable. Old results and trophy history don't.
- Skins and twosNot scored. Run the twos sweep the way you do now.
- Texas scrambleNot offered as a format. One card on paper does it.
- ToursNot a feature. A weekend meeting of several rounds is, as part of a build.
- Automatic countbackTies are flagged and you set the order off the cards. There's no automatic last nine, six, three.
Your format isn't listed? Tell us how it works.
Explain it the way you'd explain it to a new member: who plays off what, which meetings count, what the winner gives back. We'll give you a plain yes or no.
Within a few days, and before you pay anything, we set up one of your real fixtures so the committee can click round it. A build is £950, then £150 a year, and it's usually ready within a week of the go-ahead: days, not months. The price in full
